Who We Are

Now that the Coalition has successfully defeated Yucca Valley's Sphere of Influence and Annexation of Yucca Mesa, we are turning our attention to Part 2 of this campaign, the Hi-Desert Water District's attempted Water and Money Grab.

The Stop Yucca Mesa Annexation Coalition was organized in December 2008 in response to the Town of Yucca Valley's threat to take over Yucca Mesa's land and water by applying for a Sphere of Influence to be followed by Annexation through the Local Agency Formation Commission for San Bernardino County (LAFCO).

Our Mission:

To preserve the economic and rural environment of Yucca Mesa against the Town of Yucca Valley's exploitation of Yucca's Mesa's land, water, and services deemed not in the best interest of the residents, landowners, voters, and taxpayers.

Public Communication:

  • Education and information
  • Collaborative efforts with citizens, officials, and other organizations
  • Support of community-based organizing and solutions
  • Speakers' Bureau
