(For Your Information: An Assessment District requires each property owner in a specific area to pay for such benefits as streets, street maintenance, curbs and gutters, sewers, lighting, drainage and flood control facilities over time. Property owners have to vote in an Assessment District during an election.)

20.  The sheriff’s department handles law enforcement on the Mesa. There are half the calls per resident on the Mesa as there are from the Town to the sheriff’s. Coverage is good enough. I don’t want to pay for any additional sheriff’s services.

21.  The Town of Yucca Valley has a long-term recreational plan. It includes an amphitheatre on the West side of 247 and Aberdeen beneath its rock art project. A dog park is planned nearby. I don’t want either nor the Town to make the Mesa its recreation area.
